Luckily for you I happened to take my cell phone with me one of these times.

Now, these dogs are seriously fat. They are pretty old now, so we just kind of let them be. I don't know if the camera is going to be able to really portray the true-life scene, but trust me...fat!

The strangest thing is, that these dogs don't eat that much (I swear!). They share one medium sized bowl of dog food between them. They don't get any table scraps or a ton of treats. I just don't get it. One of my theories is that they have some how figured out how to get fat from drinking water...I don't know, just grasping at straws here.

The white dog is a Rat Terrier. This breed of dog is supposed to be small, energetic (maybe even "bouncey"), but ever since I got her she has been somewhat of a special-needs pet. The second night I owned her, she was barking all night long and then puked, pooped,or peed in my apartment (can't remember which) so I put her out on the balcony so I could clean up. That was when she decided to see if she could fly. All of the sudden there was no more barking. First thought, "ahhhhh, sweet silence". Second thought, "Oh #@#$ where did she go?!" I ran out to the balcony, looked down, and saw this little Rat Terrier laying there (just stunned, but I didn't realize it). From that day forward she start having seizures, so she has been on some kind of drug or another for years. (all of which have some kind of water retention, fatassedness side-effects I'm sure).

Now, the Beagle has no excuse except for the fact that it is a Beagle I guess. He is seriously hugetastic. When he walks he sounds like a pig. If you walk too fast he lays down on his side and refuses to move. Seriously...fatty.
The story on this guy is that we rescued him from the local animal shelter, and of course he had had some tragic story of bad previous owners. The result was a dog who eats weird stuff, not unlike a goat. If you were to catch him on the odd chance he is actually up moving around, you might be able to spy him munching grass in the yard. (?!!).

An intertaining side-note to this adoption, the Animal Shelter requires you to neuter animals you adopt, so between the time I adopted him, and the date for the neuteration he knocked up the Rat Terrier.

What can I say, I am awesome at pets.

What do the offspring look like you ask? Well the one puppy that was kept in the family, (my mother-in-law took him) is just as fat as, if not fatter than, his parents. Those are some good genes right there!

  Here are some pics:

Robots and main page accessibility

On my quest towards e-stardom (aka a relevant and content-rich website), I realized that the navigation towards my older "news items" was somewhat lacking. My solution for this problem was to create a side bar menu that would contain all of the news item titles in descending date order (aka newest first).

A day or two after this change, I began to notice a positive side-effect to including all of these titles as links on the main page...The robots (spiders) were crawling all through my site! I'm not 100% sure, but I can't imagine how this increased indexing would hurt my chances of being returned in some search results.

In a possibly related subject, a Google search for 'Aaron Lynch' now returns this page in the top 10 search results (#6 as of this entry) and an MSN search returns www.AaronJLynch.com as #3!

Does anybody want my autograph?

UPDATE 1/25/06: Either Google has changed my ranking somehow, or my switch to BlogCFC has harmed my accessibility somehow. I now turn up on like page 5 or something terrible. Back to the drawing board!
