Scriptalizer.com updates: yuicompressor 2.4.1 and CSS combination/compression

Internet, Web Development, Javascript, CSS

Couple quick notes on Scriptalizer.com:

I think it is cool that the app has quietly worked its way up to almost 40,000 KB of trimmed white space/carriage returns/etc (and even earned itself 18 diggs as of this post).

Today I rolled some updates out to the site.  Scriptalizer uses the yuicompressor to do its minfication so I updated the jar to the lastest available version (2.4.1).

Now offering CSS combination and compression!  There is an additional file upload element on the form now.  Allowing you to upload multiple javascript and css files for combination and minification/compression.

Enjoy and  PLEASE let me know if there is any odd behavior.

Thanks for reading!

thanks for the update, now with the css support the service rocks even more!
i've been using it since it first came out, but it stopped working for me a couple of weeks ago and only gave 0KB results. now with the update it works in IE7, but i get no link above the Google ad in Firefox. but i'll switch to IE7 for scriptalization if that's how it has to be ;D
thanks man, i clicked on some of the ads for support!

Ok, if you wouldn't mind letting me know what you find out That would be awesome. I will also try to create an XP VM with FF3.1 beta (eventually) :)

Thanks!

yeah, it's a 3.1 Beta thing. Works fine in 3.0.x, so i wouldn't worry about it for now, there's still a couple of JavaScript bugs that'll be fixed until 3.1 Final.
thanks again!

Thanks very much for your effort and time in developing scriptilizer. Do the javascript files that are submitted for scriptilization need to be uncompressed or may they already have compression applied to them beforehand? Thanks very much if you have a chance to answer! --Terry

Glad you are using/liking the service. I have had mixed results when trying to include previously minified js files. I guess I will just say "try it and see".
